ISI's STAFF APPLICATION STEPS
All Field Staff Positions Steps 1 through 6 Step 1 Initial Contact: Completing the Ministry Inquiry Form at the bottom of this page begins your application process for all Field Staff positions. A screening call from the ISI Recruitment team follows, affording you opportunity for questions. Visiting local ISI ministry functions is strongly encouraged, as is participating in a Perspectives course. Then, based upon your initial inquiry, you may be invited to complete an ISI Staff Application. Step 2 Application: The electronic ISI Staff Application includes helpful information for us to evaluate properly. You will also receive a release form authorizing ISI to perform a required background check. Please complete these quickly, as returned applications must be received no later than 60 days prior to the next New Staff Orientation (NSO) to be eligible to attend. Reference forms will then be sent out to those you list as references. Step 3 (Concurrent with Step 4) Due Diligence: As your reference forms are returning to our Home Office, we will complete our due diligence by asking further questions of them. At the same time you will be completing the following pre-hire steps... Step 4 (Concurrent with Step 3) Pre-Hire Exploring ISI Modules: While our due diligence process is underway, you'll be connected with an ISI "Coach" who will guide you through three pre-hire Exploring ISI modules required of all ISI staff applicants. These self-paced modules allow you to discover more about: 1) ISI's mission, vision, values, 2) your calling, gifts and fit, and finally 3) your financial viability for sustaining a ministry budget with ISI. These modules must be completed at least 30 days prior to the next NSO to be eligible for attendance. Step 5 Review: A personal interview must be completed by your area's Regional Field Director sometime during the application process. An initial ministry budget may be developed during this visit, which will include the following four components: - Salary which is negotiated with their Regional Field Director, and which is within ISI's Board-approved salary range for each ISI staff position
- Ministry Expenses specific expenses relatetd to ISI ministry which are reimbursable funds, provided available funds are in their account
- Staff Service Allocation (print .pdf file) or SSA which is ISI's 15% administrative fee for all receipted donations, this is used for support services to benefit field staff
- Escrow Account funds held in escrow designated for staff's annual ISI National Staff Conference expenses.
- (Note: A Ministry Rep’s ISI budget includes only Ministry Expenses, and is also subject to the 15% SSA.)
Note: At this point, the applicant’s file is reviewed and a hiring decision made by ISI. If you are considering working 24 or more hours each week for ISI, you must have supplied documentation of your current medical insurance coverage limits in order for this review to proceed. Step 6 Closure: Once ISI decides to offer you staff employment, you will be notified by a packet mailed to you including an "offer letter" and ISI employment documents. Your employment begins once the enclosed forms are completed and returned. Your official hire date will be determined and your personal ISI account will be assigned thereafter. Once your ISI account is opened, your donors may begin contributing to your account for tax-deductible receipting. Note: In most cases the application process may take 60 DAYS depending on the timely responses of your references, the completion of your Exploring ISI pre-hire modules, and completion of our due diligence process.
